National Minority Organ Donor Awareness Week

August 1st – 7th

Our worship experience on Sunday, August 2nd provides an opportunity to thank God for the life chaning and life sustaining gifts of organ donations. Observed annually, National Minority Donor Awareness Week was created to increase awareness of the need for more organ, eye, and tissue donors, especially among minorities.

Now in its 18th year, this special observance honors minorities who have been donors, and encourages others to register as donors and take better care of their health in order to reduce the number needing a transplant. Keep Reading


Pin-A-Sister™ is a breast cancer awareness campaign to educate and engage women in taking control of their breast health that was launched in 2007 by Access Community Health Network. ACCESS, the nation’s largest network of federally qualified health centers, operates more than 50 community health center locations in underserved, low-income neighborhoods throughout the Chicago region, providing care to 200,000 individuals each year.This ministry celebration will provide an opportunity to recognize the branch of love individuals and congregations are extending to the communities we are called to serve and to celebrate their fruitfulness in living into our covenant with the people of the city of Chicago.
